![]() As an additional study, this thesis includes developing interface between a robotic system and a vision system. Actuators of the robot are Harmonic Drive AC servo units. Most of the robot parts are manufactured except the actuators. After completing all the analyses, a prototype of the robot was built. API (“application program interface”) capabilities of SolidWorks, CosmosMotion, CosmosWorks and PC-based motor control software are used to develop integrated software by VisualBASIC. In this thesis, integrated design approach is used to design, analysis and control of the macro-positioning robot. These types of robot system combinations are defined as hybrid robots in the literature. Combination of two different robots can be considered as a solution for having macro-positioning and micron precision features both in one system. There are some solutions to extend this limited workspace. On the other hand, their limited workspace is not enough for some applications. Hexapod robots have micron-precision motion capability. The macro-positioning robot is designed to manipulate the hexapod precisely. In this thesis, computer aided design of a macro-positioning robot for an hexapod is considered. Moreover, we introduce the interactive system we are designing to allow a usable manipulation of 3D reconstructions of anatomical parts in virtual environments, which is based on the use of a handheld input device: the Wii controller. We analyze the main requirements to produce effective systems suitable to be used by physicians, from the input device to the interaction techniques and metaphors. In this study we try to outline the deficiencies of current VR-enhanced medical applications, focusing on field of medical imaging. Nonetheless, VR is still far away from being used in the daily clinical practice, being confined to specialist applications. In medicine, the application of these technologies and of the related communication interfaces could have a great impact on several fields, such as virtual endoscopy, surgical simulation and planning and medical education. This approach has the potential to simplify the way people solve problems, since they can take advantage of their real life experiences while interacting in synthetic worlds. What do you guys think? The 9999 ebuild shouldn't be put into the tree since it grabs from MakeHuman's server, and if hundreds of people use it, it'll bog down their server.Virtual Reality (VR) technologies make it possible to reproduce faithfully real life events in computer-generated scenarios. The tarball can then be hosted on the developer's server. Then run 'makehuman-packager.sh X.X.X' to generate an ebuild, tarball, and Manifest. So basically, the process is, 'emerge =media-gfx/makehuman-9999' to install the latest development version. In the files directory, you can call './makehuman-packager.sh 1.0.0' to create a tarball of the MakeHuman program, and the generated tarball can be stored on Gentoo's mirror. This isn't an ideal way of doing, but this is where the meta-ebuild comes in. Makehuman-9999.ebuild retrieves the latest assets from the MakeHuman development FTP server in the src_install function, and installs. It was there to build the makehuman-1.0.0 ebuild. The makehuman-1.0.0-r1.ebuild should be ignored. I have created some ebuilds for MakeHuman if anyone wants to take a look at them. The true version is makehuman-0.9.1-rc1a, not I had to deal with makehuman version numerotation which does not matches the required standards. the makehuman icon does not appear in the menus. I was not able to easily use eautoreconf to regenarte autotools files in makehuman nor in mhgui without breaking linking with Freeglut.
